Brain and Spine Injuries

What You Can Expect - personally and with your case

Traumatic Brain Injury - Depending upon the severity of the injury to your brain you may have already begun to experience major changes in your life.  You may not yet even understand how serious your losses are.  Every TBI has a lifechanging potential.  This all, of course, depends upon the severity and the location of the injury to your brain.  This subject is so complicated it warrants far more attention than can be given here.

One can expect multiple Symptoms from a TBI, often starting with memory loss.  Also difficulty concentrating,  organizing thoughts, processing information and with problem solving, confusion, depression and anxiety, mood change, loss of self-identity, insomnia, withdrawal from others and from life activities, and many others.  There the physical manifestations such as headaches, fatigue, dizziness, light sensitivity, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), etc.   IT CAN BE DEVASTATING.

Care and Treatment - The unfortunate truth is that today there is little that can be done for most injuries to the brain.  Most care and treatment focuses upon the human capacity to compensate and adapt.

However, several diagnostic tools exist which enable us to determine whether your head injury, or concussion, has caused permanent damage.  Let us discuss those with you.
